2) Is it a challenge for local electricians to wire DC products?
Speaking with local electricians who have built DC systems for the University of Pittsburgh, there is some additional training required but nothing unmanageable. Electricians who go through the local IBEW receive adequate training in wiring AC systems because the majority of wiring is AC based currently. To wire DC systems, the electricians had to communicate with the manufacturers and educate themselves to develop a new skillset that will be required in the future. Just as engineers go through training at the universities, students cannot be trained on every problem that they will experience. Engineering is a lifetime learning endeavor. This will be similar for electricians who are first exposed to DC wiring for the first time.
